​On November 25, the opening ceremony of the Teacher Training Program in Tourism & Hotel Management in the Context of the Belt and Road” in conjunction with Kaunas University of Applied Sciences of Lithuania was held in the conference room of our college’s comprehensive building.

KUAS Vice President Antanas led a delegation of six teachers, and was joined by HNCST Vice President Gui Zhanj, Zhao Lihong from the Qionghai Foreign Affairs Office, Zhang Yu from the Tourism Development Commission of Qionghai People’s Government as well as teachers and students from the HNCST Foreign Language & Tourism Department.  Together they attended the opening ceremony which was presided over by Prof. Shang Zhiqiang, Director of International Exchange & Cooperation Center.

During the opening ceremony, HNCST Vice President Gui Zhanji welcomed Vice President Antanas and the delegation led by him.  He reviewed the cooperative achievements made by HNCST and KUAS, gave a brief introduction to the program, and then expressed his best wishes toward the KUAS delegation during their stay in Hainan. I hope this training programme will be a trip of study, a trip of experience, a trip of sharing, a trip of transmitting, a fruitful trip and an unforgettable trip. For us, what we will try our best to do is “WarmWelcome,HighStandards”. Mr. Gui said finally.

KUAS Vice President Antanas expressed his sincere thanks toward our college and affirmed the cooperation and exchange between HNCST and KUAS.  He pointed out that our cooperation and, especially, this visit will contribute to developing inbound and outbound tourism between China and Lithuania. He said We hope that Hainan College of Software Technology and Kauno kolegija/ University of Applied Sciences will further contribute to the development of friendly cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Lithuania. Finally, he invited leaders from our college to attend the “2018 International Week” at KUAS.

At the end of the opening ceremony, gifts were exchanged between our college and KUAS, and pictures were taken to memorialize the moment.

The teacher training program in tourism & hotel management will last from November 25th to December 1st.  It will adhere to the spirit of the Belt & Road, being “openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit” .The training will consist of academic presentations, seminars, round tables, interactive courses, on-site cultural observations. Program speakers will be leaders and experts from the organizations of Qionghai and Hainan province, as well as experts and scholars from different universities and industries.  At the same time, teachers from KUAS will present five reports on tourism and hotel management for our students and teachers.

Kaunas University of Applied Sciences is a major national higher professional university in Lithuania.  Our college established a cooperation treaty with KUAS in March 2013.  Since then, we have made great achievements in student exchange and guest teacher visits.  The educational training held by our college in this program will further promote the exchange and cooperation between the two schools.
